Photos – U.S. Bike Trip – 1976-1977 (Set Six – Olympic National Park, WA)
-
-
These pictures are from the Hurricane Ridge area of Olympic National Park, WA; and were taken by my friend “JD” – who lived in the dorm with me during my second year at MSU.
-
-
I’ve cropped the previous photo to show that there is a white mountain goat on the far left of the picture, and I’m the one on the right…not to be confused with an old goat!
-
-
This is a close up of the mountain goat from the previous pictures, just relaxing on the edge of a ledge and enjoying the sunny afternoon in Olympic National Park, WA.
-
-
This mountain goat was afraid of heights and stayed out in the open taking it easy.
-
-
Bruce (left) and I had completed our 8,000 mile bicycle adventure around America and were living and working in Seattle and contemplating our next move.
-
-
These pictures that “JD” took of Bruce and I represents the “official” end of our 8,000 mile bicycle adventure around the United States, and shortly after these pictures were taken Bruce decided to return solo to Michigan.
-
-
“JD” took this picture of me on the edge of a cliff on Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park; which for me represents what was the beginning of the rest of my life after the bike trip with Bruce – and is one of my favorite pictures.
-
-
I found new adventures in Seattle to experience and was eager to continue pursuing the life of my dreams – and couldn’t wait to see what was around the next bend in the road that was becoming my life.
-
-
I would soon discover hot air ballooning, continue exploring much of the country and bicycle solo around England, Scotland, Wales and France…and later go on to fly jets!
