Photos – Hahn AB, Germany – 1989-1991 (Set Thirty Six – Easter in Bruch, Germany – April 1991)

On Easter Sunday after church we drove to my wife’s parent’s house in Bruch, and I believe that this is the first picture I’m posting of our 1987 Honda Civic wagon that we bought when we first moved to Sacramento, CA, in 1987.

-
I’ve always tried to take interesting pictures that give a different perspective to whatever I’m photographing, and this view of David’s grandparent’s house in Bruch turned out to be very natural.
-
-
David was able to have his second Easter egg hunt of the day in Bruch, and with such a large garden to look around – this was bound to take awhile.
-
-
David’s grandmother or “Oma” encourages him to go off and explore the yard in a different direction – as there’s bound to be more eggs out there somewhere hidden in the garden.
-
-
David reaches carefully into a plant beside the terrace for a prize that seems to be hidden there, as his Oma supervises the entire process.
-
-
David’s Oma seems to be helping the Easter bunny out, by hiding a new Easter basket and chocolate bunny beside the terrace when David’s not looking.
-
-
From the far corner of the garden David runs with a prize of chocolate eggs that he discovered hiding behind a birch tree.
-
-
Another discovery from behind the circular flower garden in the side yard yields yet another prize for David as he continues the Easter egg hunt.
-
-
Standing like a garden statue for a moment while holding a newly discovered Easter basket, David pauses during the action on Easter Sunday.
-
-
I serve here as a convenient “Easter basket holder” for David, as he finds more small chocolates to add to it.
-
-
Proudly showing off an Easter basket in Bruch, David is in the middle ground – transitioning into a young man but not yet ready to leave childhood behind him.
-
-
Standing like a little butler while looking over the prized Easter basket with the large chocolate bunny in it, David looks quite happy reviewing the grand prize of the Easter egg hunt.
-
-
David looks to see if he has enough milk in his cup as I serve up a piece of Easter lamb cake for him to eat, just one of the treats that my mother-in-law baked for all of us to enjoy during Easter “coffee and cake.”
-
-
David tries on a pair of Oma’s play sunglasses – similar to the ones that he had fun with last summer on the terrace – and looks the part for attending a Hollywood premier on the red carpet.
-
-
Finally after a long fun-filled day, I sit down with David and his little cousin on Easter to help put together the Lego airplane puzzle that the Easter bunny had brought to him in Monzelfeld earlier in the morning.
