Since we were moving in late February 1993 to Ramstein AB, Germany; we didn’t put up a tree and decided to drive to Bruch, Germany, for Christmas – as it was only a day’s drive away and the Chunnel ride made it easier.
So we had an informal Christmas in Bloxham a few days early, and only set up the smaller Christmas decorations – so we could still enjoy the season of Advent.
When you have children you find that the bulk of the Christmas presents are always to make Christmas special for the kids, and it’s always a good idea to pick out gifts the family really needs.
I already received my Christmas present this year, which was the opportunity for an assignment to Ramstein AB and the opportunity to have a fresh start again.
David’s all ready as we prepare to open presents while celebrating Christmas a little early; and I was very thankful for this new opportunity at Ramstein AB – and planned on making the most of what it had to offer us.
During the course of my career, F-16 pilots had taken excellent care of me; and perhaps that’s what gave me hope that Ramstein AB would work out for us on this upcoming assignment.
