The U.S. Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) desert patch; as I was retiring, RAF Mildenhall didn’t want my flight gear – so I contacted the 493rd Fighter Squadron (FS) at RAF Lakenheath to give my flight gear to them.
This is the 48th Fighter Wing (FW), “Statue de la Liberte” or Statue of Liberty Wing patch; my flight helmet originally dated back to 1984 at Spangdahlem AB, Germany, with various upgrades made to it along the way.
This is the 48th Operations Support Squadron (48th OSS) at RAF Lakenheath; so I turned in my flight helmet and g-suit to the 493rd Fighter Squadron (FS) Life Support Shop for their use.
