After David’s First Holy Communion in Hetzerath, Germany, everyone returned home to our house for his First Holy Communion dinner – and here David sits at the head of the table with me beside him in our living room.
Looking the opposite direction from David’s perspective at the head of the table, our guests wait for the catered dinner to be served – David’s little cousin sits at the far end of the table.
David was the first one to be served when the buffet tables were ready, and our guests were able to serve themselves from the many dinner and dessert options that were available.

The occasion of David’s First Holy Communion dinner went on for hours, and as the sun began to set these pictures reflected the dimming light – here I sit on the left with my brother-in-law at the table.
We used all of our available tables to set up the buffet in our dining room, and here is a picture of the wonderful food a catering company provided for us.
Here are the dessert options following the dinner, which included many different varieties of cakes – most of which were catered by a very popular Trier Café.
David’s First Holy Communion was a very nice opportunity to gather the family in Germany over to our house to celebrate with David – here’s a close-up of one of the buffet tables.
The day went very well from every aspect for David and for the family, and we’ll always remember David’s First Holy Communion as an important milestone in his life.
