I took this photo of Don and Margrit standing in front of a carved sea Captain and his parrot, which may have been on the grounds of our hotel at Cannon Beach, OR.
As I reviewed these photos of Don and Margrit along with others that I took, I was captivated by the beautiful flowers in front of them in the garden.
So I decided to crop from these original photos, this series I call of “Portraits of Flowers” for you to enjoy!
I cropped photos from the various originals, creating these flower portraits…letting nature paint her portraits in these simple arrangements.
There is no better master artisan than nature herself to take what human hands have planted, and reveal the beauty of her work.
I especially enjoyed the fact that these cropped flower portraits are softened by enlarging them just enough, to highlight their colors over sharp details.
I’ve always loved flowers and gardens, appreciating the beauty of nature and the honesty revealed in the work of a gardener’s hands.
As gardeners ourselves, we have often said, “A garden never lies.” – reflecting directly the care and attention, or lack thereof, of the attending gardener.
Plants are a great illustration for taking care of one another because all living things – plants, creatures, animals and people – require love, care, watering and nurturing to live, thrive and prosper.
