“Reflections” is an introspective song I wrote about the dreams of our youth and the realization at some point that our lives may have taken a detour somewhere along the way, and perhaps the person we are today is not at all the person we always wanted to be. There are many reasons our lives may have turned out differently than how we believed they would when we were younger and idealistic, but one of the reasons may have been we simply became complacent and allowed circumstances to pull us blindly along the path of least resistance – instead of defining who we are and who we choose to be – and then working to become that person. The song asks “When you look in the mirror, What do you see, Are you the person, You always wanted to be” and then encourages us, saying “Reflections in a mirror, What do you see, You can still be that person, You always wanted to be.”

“Reflections” is a song from Set 2 of my recordings in 1996, and speaks of looking into the mirror and deciding to finally become the person you always wanted to be. The first words of the song aren’t recorded clearly and begin with, “How do you feel, In the morning, When you first, Get out of bed…” This song reminds us to never give up on our hopes and dreams ~ even for this songwriter who began his journey of writing songs back in 1989 ~ and only now is sharing them with all of you! Enjoy! ♡ 🙂 Mark
