Sign Of The Times describes a chance encounter between a young man and an old man meeting alongside the highway. I imagine the young man walking towards his future, while the old man is nearing the end of his road. The young man says, “And I asked him for directions, To help show me the way, From the troubles of the world, And to a better day.” The old man replies with the wisdom of his years, “He told me the problems, Of livin’ in the world today, Reflect the lives we’re livin’, Each and every day.” Then the young man ponders to himself, “There is no better day, To reflect on the life I’m livin’, Time to start today.”

I recorded my original song “Sign Of The Times” on Set 4 in 1996, and it speaks to the world around us being a reflection of how we’re living our lives. The singer has a chance encounter along the highway with an old man who tells him, “He told me the problems, Of livin’ in the world today, Reflect the lives we’re livin’, Each and every day, He said, It’s just a sign of the times, A sign of the times, Of the times…” Enjoy! ♡ 🙂 Mark
