Original Song – “Sixteen Candles”

Sixteen Candles is a contemplative song about the choices we make during the course of our lives.  As we get older, we realize it’s been the choices we’ve made in life that have led us to the point we’re at – for better or for worse – and perhaps if we would have made different choices along the way, our lives would look much differently than they do today.  Sixteen Candles attempts to explain this notion of being careful about the choices we make in life, because each and every choice we make leads to an outcome that may or may not have been expected or desired.  There are no guarantees in life, but the choices we make everyday define our lives, “For life is full of choices, That you make from day to day, Make your choices, Wisely on your way, On your way…”

I recorded my original song “Sixteen Candles” in two takes on Set 5 in 1996, and they complete this set. The song speaks to the choices we make in life and the importance of choosing wisely along the way, “For your life is full of choices…” Enjoy! ♡ 🙂 Mark

  1. Mark,

Again, my apologies for being so long in weighing in on this one. It’s on the Playlist at WMDJ and it will remain there.

You are so very correct that the choices we make along this journey called life make us who we are. Today, I am a composite of all of the bad and good that I have encountered on my journey thus far. I like to think of it as a tapestry that we will never fully see until we see God, in Heaven.

I see each action of our lives a one movement of The Weavers shuttle through the warp of the tapestry, we do not know the color, we do not know the final outcome. Only ‘The Weaver’ knows this. We trust in ‘The Weaver’ and attempt to make each shuttle movement count for something. Ultimately our tapestry will be complete and that is when we will have completed our earthly journey.

May our God watch over you and yours as you silently weave your tapestries together. I know it will be beautiful when it is complete as you have helped more people than you realize, I am certain.

    Love in Christ,

    Jade

  2. Jade,

Thank you for your beautiful comment and insights! ♥ Our journey together through your trails and my songs, has filled in a beautiful corner of our greater tapestries ~ a fabric, color and texture reflecting this path we’ve been walking together! I’m sure, when we view this journey of ours together in the greater tapestry once we reach heaven, we’ll be able to smile and simply say Amen! ♥ 🙂

Love and healing in Jesus Name! ♥

    Mark
