Original Song – “Lady, Oh Lady”

Lady, Oh Lady is a slow, simple, heartfelt and sentimental love song about commitment, distance and longing of the heart.  I love the relationship between the chord sequences and the soft and dreamy atmosphere the chords create for the lyrics to swirl around in, as if dancing in the fog of a wonderful, never-ending dream!  “Even though we’re, So far apart, You are always, In my heart, If I can’t be, There with you, I’ll send my love, To you, All my love, To you…”

I recorded my original song “Lady, Oh Lady” on Set Eleven in 1997 on four takes, and surprisingly enough for me they all turned out pretty well! 🙂 Each take is a different flavor as takes one and two are strummed on the guitar using a pick, and takes three and four are simply strummed with my fingers. Take one is faster, while takes two, three and four keep slowing down and getting progressively better ~ I’ll share them all with you! Enjoy! ♡ 🙂 Mark

  1. Mark,

This one hit me in the face and I recalled all of the years my husband I spent 5000 miles away from each other then when I moved to CA 8000 miles apart. There was never any doubt that we loved each other and would never stray from that love.

I cried in a good way ~ WMDJ is playing this nightly in my dreams.

God bless you for all of the wonderful music you have shared. I know that the World will hear it one day … even if it is a whisper on the winds of time.

    With Love in Christ,

    Jade

  2. Jade,

Thank you very much ~ especially for your sweet comment there at the end! I’m posting the songs I wrote 20+ years ago in order to share them with the world, add them to the body of work that I’ve written and at the same time, provide a testament to the power of answered prayer. In many respects, song lyrics are simply poems set to music and I appreciate that this one speaks to your heart and to your experiences! ♥

    Love in Christ!

    Mark
