Original Song – “On My Knees”

On My Knees is a fast, fun, upbeat, breathless, cute and exuberant little song that tells the fictional story of proposing to Mary Lou.  The singer’s beside himself with excitement and can’t wait for her response to the most important question in the whole, wide world – will she marry him?  The song speaks to the innocence and enthusiasm of youth, along with the infectious infatuation of love.  Stories are special because they touch and connect with us emotionally – relating to our experiences, as well as to our hopes, wishes and dreams, “She says that her love for me is true, She says I’m the only one that will do, She waited here for me to ask her please, She waited for me to get down on my knees…”

I recorded my original song “On My Knees” in two takes on Set 4 in 1996, and it tells the fictional story of proposing to Mary Lou. It’s a sweet little story that captures the essence and excitement of love, “I picked out a ring just the other day, And I brought it here just so that I could say, Please Mary Lou will you marry me…” Enjoy! ♡ 🙂 Mark
